CHAPTER 1

My name is Kathy. My sister is Diane. Cindi's our cousin. To Pa Ben's we go flyin'.

Way out in the country he has a farm. In northeast Arkansas it can be cold or really warm.

Pa Ben has a dairy barn, where he milks all the cows. He has another barn, where he keeps tractors and plows.

We love to play in the hay way up high. We swing from the rafters. We're not monkeys, but we try.

The cows love to graze in Pa Ben's pasture. He tells us to be careful. "And don't step in the manure."

He shows us how to feed a baby calf. She must be really hungry. She drank a bottle and a half.

An old shed was given to Grandma's chickens. There were nooks and crannies where they did their peckin's.

The golden hens laid eggs in their nests. Then every morning we'd pick out the best.

Pa Ben has some hogs that he keeps in a pen. Sometimes he would take them to the fair, and they would win.
