Marie Shield lives in the Los Angeles area. She won the Abbey Hill Literary Challenge second quarter 2010, her story He Is Our Son is currently a finalist in Escape Into Life judged by Robert Olen Butler, Buck Fever a finalist for the Rick DeMarinis award. Chapters of her novel Women Need Not Apply have been published and won several awards including an Excellence in Writing and a Beginning Writer Award from the Santa Barbara Writers Conference.
