Ring Lardner's brilliantly humorous portrayal of the bureaucratic struggles of home-ownership and community living.

The story is illustrated with some 30 plates by the famous illustrator Fontaine Fox. After "Bib Ballads" in 1915. Fontaine Fox continued his collaboration with Ring Lardner in 1919 with "Own your Own Home".
