The mission of the unseen forces behind the double murder, are exposed when they try to take the life of Buck Crane, the main character in the story. The battle is then escalated to the involvement of heavenly forces brought into play by prayers said long ago by a now deceased grand father and the present prayers of his son who unwittingly are key players in a struggle of life and death. At the end Buck learns how to win the battle of the ages.
