We have heard it said several times that truth is indeed stranger than fiction. If you take it upon yourself to disprove those common notion, you will hit the bricks for it is true. A very classy and affluent woman invited some of us to join her in a night vigil prayer in her house. Her husband would be attending some conference somewhere and she has the house to herself plus the children. On arrival, only a sister joined me, every other seem to call with an excuse or another. We quickly agreed it would be a 12 mid-night to 3 am affair God willing. As we proceeded n prayer on vision became prominent to both of us.
Something did not feel right but we handled everything into the hands of the Almighty Father. He knows it all. By 6 am I had another call from this lady. The husband called her and said he was not coming back home. That he did not want to embarrass her or be a 'bad-dad' but he is moving in with some that they both know. This lady was 16 years old when her parents divorced and simply abandoned her to uncaring relatives. She was schoolmates with this woman's daughter and sports in common. When her daughter brought her home and introduced her, this young lady was very likable and helpful.
How can everyone have missed the sign? They ate together, went to church together, watched and made meals with the daughter. Moreover, the husband has a title in the large church they attended. Where are all the good people? This was a heartbreaking news because she had invited an enemy into her household. A household she has diligently built for twenty-one years!
"Help, Lord: for the godly man ceased; for the faithful fail from among the children of men" (Psalm 12:1).
