Overview

For fourteen-year-old Niki Swan, life hasn’t been easy. Considered troublesome from those who meet her, she has spent her childhood bouncing around in more foster homes than she’d care to count. The only constant in her life has been John, a tennis coach turned friend and mentor. As the years go by, Niki and John soon set their sights on the Junior U.S. Open.

But in the event of an unexpected tragedy, lost, confused and angry, Niki finds herself questioning all that she has worked for. She debates with herself to continue doing the one thing she loves, feeling unable to pick up a racquet again. Time is running out as the tournament approaches, the stakes are higher than ever, and Niki must make some decisions she doesn’t want to make. Decisions that force her to confront her past, and one deep, dark secret that has haunted her all her life. A secret she swore she would never speak of-but with everything on line, Niki must make a final choice that weighs trust against secrecy and present against past.
