Overview

Of all the aristocratic dynasties that once reigned over Georgia's Cumberland Island, only the Hill family survives. Now they too are threatened. Charlotte, the family matriarch, has died suddenly and mysteriously, leaving her sister-in-law, Hannah, to protect the unspoiled paradise. But Hannah's own health is precarious, and the younger generation doesn't share the family devotion to the land. About the Author

Sally Wright, a 2001 Edgar Finalist, has studied rare books, early explorers, painting restoration, WWII tech-teams, the Venona Code, and more, to write her university-archivist-ex-WWII-Scout books about Ben Reese, who's based on a real person. Sally Wright and her husband live in the country with various animals and too many gardens to keep up with. Their two grown kids have flown the coop.
