This is a brief guide for experienced magicians who want to learn and perfect this specific card trick: Out of sight - out of mind. This is not a “how to do it” for spectators! These are card trick instructions for how to perform Out of Sight. This is a result of my original work on the Out of Sight – Out of Mind trick. If you are new to magic or to cards, you will need to practice some of the basic and advanced techniques necessary to successfully pull off this reputation-maker, but it is worth the time if you are committed to advancing your skills.

Card tricks can be useful in so many settings, not just for performers on stage. From parties with friends and family to visiting people who are in hospitals and nursing homes, a deck of cards can always come with you. Find a few really good tricks that you are able to master. Try many, and then pick the few that will be your repertoire. Practice and practice and practice, and never share the secrets with spectators. It is tempting, but they’re not expecting you to actually share the secrets anyway, so please try to hold out. If you must, include a more common trick in your set – something that has a method they could probably just find by a google search anyway. Do not reveal the high value tricks such as Out of Sight. Keep the respect for our trade.
