Overview

The idea of an entire town sharing everything is unique and Orderville was able to accomplish it and had success with it for several years until the abolishment of polygamy and the modern age. There are many people who travel through the small towns of Utah to get to its National Parks and Orderville is one of those small towns. This book will appeal to both old and young. It focuses on a young boy and his desire to explore the world, especially after his meeting with Major John Wesley Powell.

Jon Layman who is only five years old finds himself moving from a small town in Nevada to settle into a new home in Utah. His family is extremely poor after losing all of their belongings in a flash flood, and it takes everything they can do to make things work in their new home.

Chris Fife has written several fiction and non-fiction books. He has a master’s degree in education and has taught for over fifteen years teaching health, science, PE, geography, and history in secondary schools. He spends his free time reading, writing, gardening, hiking, and serving in his church in various activities. Chris has been involved in the Boy Scout organization for more than eight years, and has done a lot of training in the outdoors. He lives in Utah with his family.
