About the Author

Joseph Chinyong Liow is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include Muslim politics and international politics of the Southeast Asian region, and his publications include Politics of Indonesia-Malaysia Relations; One Kin, Two Nations (RoutledgeCurzon, 2004), Ralf Emmers is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests lie in security studies, international institutions in the Asia-Pacific and the international relations of Southeast Asia. He is the author of Cooperative Security and the Balance of Power in ASEAN and the ARF (RoutledgeCurzon, 2003).
