About the Author

Kiyoshi Nosu is Group Leader of the Coherent Lightwave Transmission Research Group, NTT Transmission Systems Laboratories, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in electronics engineering form the University of Tokyo, Japan. He is a member of the IEICE, the Japan Operation Research Society, the Japanese Society of Applied Physics, and was co-organizer of the ICC'93 workshop on Photonic Networks.
