About the Author

G.B. “B.” Shelburne, III, was ordained to ministry in 1956. He married his wife Helen Ruth Hayes Shelburne the same year. The couple served local churches before moving to Malawi, Africa, as missionaries for 19 years. In 1980, Shelburne succeeded his father as head of what is now South Houston Bible Institute. He semi-retired in 2008 but continues to teach. He has been an elder in his home church since 1989. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Bible from Abilene Christian University. The couple’s three children are in God’s service. Shelburne’s passions include shepherding, teaching, writing, Christian unity and mountain hiking. He writes with the heart of a shepherd.
