About the Author

Dr. Mohammed A. Alsahlawi is currently Professor of Economics, Department of Finance and Economics, College of Industrial Management, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), and earlier was Dean of the College of Industrial Management. The author holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin and MBA and BS in Chemical Engineering from KFUPM. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the Saudi Arabian Supreme Economic Council from 1997 to 2002. He established and was the Director of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) (2001-2007). Dr. Alsahlawi serves on several editorial boards of international journals in energy economics and business economics and economic development/human resource management. He has advised private- and public-sector corporations on economic, managerial, and industrial issues. His publications have appeared in Energy Economics, The Energy Journal, The Journal of Energy and Development, and OPEC Review, among others.
