Overview

Things are disappearing. Parts of buildings, parts of people, parts of the whole world. Old Shellback thinks he needs glasses. But all he really has to do is open his eyes, and see that George Smiley the Messiah is busy dismantling the world. But two can play at this game. While George is making this world disappear, Old Shellback will make another one appear - and take an amazing journey back to a future of his own making. Is it the end of the world - or just the end of the world as we know it? Listen to the audio version of One Was Stubborn and see why the answer is out of this world.

Editorial Reviews

JUNE 2014 - AudioFile

Three science-fiction short stories delivered by a full cast, along with sound effects and a musical score, make this an enjoyable listen for fans of audio drama. The prime story focuses on the future, in which a man refuses to follow a new guru who proselytizes his belief that thought is what creates and maintains reality. The protagonist must escape, even if that means going into the past. With a deep voice and strong emphasis, R.F. Daley provides the main narration for each story while other voice talents deliver the characters’ lines. Those narrators provide voices that are a bit caricatured but that still fit each story.
