Published while he was still attending Harvard Law School, it tells the story of his first year (with names changed to protect privacy). Holter Graham reads the memoir with a youthful voice that captures all the wonder, surprise, and indignation that the naïve Turow experienced in 1975-76. Turow's writing reveals self-deprecating humor, for example, his comment that a prof's brief "resembled the brief I had written only in that it was written on paper."
