Overview

As relevant today as when it was first written, Thoreau’s lucidly and passionately argued essay is a blow against the petty tyrannies of government and those who would seek to control us, manipulate us and monitor our e-mails and tweets. This is a classic text for all those concerned with the increasing power of the multi-national corporations and the shady dealings justified by neo-liberalism.
