Did Olúróunbí forget or she did not intend to fulfill her promise? Ìrókò tree threatened to swallow up the entire town if Olúróunbí did not produce the promised child for sacrifice, as agreed. When land tremors and earthquake-like event befell the town of Ilugidi; its people became torn between handing the child to Ìrókò tree or risking the destruction of the town and everybody in it.
