About the Author

About the Author: I was diagnosed in 2023 with Lymphoma. It was my first everything, as I had never even been checked into a hospital.

Understanding this journey is scary for any age, I focused on finding any levity and joy in the situation. With a science background, I wanted to create true to scientific form characters and bring them to life to add some smiles and a bit of joy to the journey. You will notice I do not use the "C" word anywhere in this book. Sticking to words like "treatment" and referring to my cluster of bad cells as a "spot"
also were helpful mentally during this process.
My hope is to help children and people of all ages by using this book as a tool to talk through a challenging situation and also to have a bit of a laugh and find that moment of joy during your journey.
Renee lives with her husband and rescue Chihuahua in NYC.
