Former pro basketball player Nash Gliven's days on the court may be over, but he can't shake the feeling that he has one last big game in him. Mourning the shots he didn't take and the fame he never quite achieved, Nash journeys home with his daughter to manage his recently deceased mother's affairs. Things turn weird when they discover the creepy castle next door is home to Dracula and his horde of bloodthirsty minions—and they've waged war on the Gliven family. Nash begins to suspect his mother was keeping a few secrets. Language and a few seriously disturbing images make this title best suited for adult collections. VERDICT Against this campy backdrop, Eisner-nominated Starks (Sex Castle) weaves an endearing multigenerational tale about family bonds and standing up for what's right. A charming pastiche of humor, classic horror, and modern family drama, this title has something to appeal to just about any reader.
