This is a wonderful recipe book for cooking healthy meals. It lists recipes from the early nineteen hundred until the present day. It consists of recipes from my mother's and grandmother's kitchen and other generation sources. My mother was a great cook and homemaker. She came from that generation where the wife stayed at home, and the husband worked and was the breadwinner. That was just the way it was in her generation. Nowadays, they call the meals she prepared comfort foods, but to me, they were just good old fashion homemade cooking. They made you feel so content that you could barely keep from falling asleep after her meals. My father once hinted that his mother's pretty face wasn't the only reason he was anxious to marry her. Father always said, "Beauty will fade, but good cooking will make a marriage last forever, and "good cooking ain't nothing but loving, loving to cook, good food for the people you are cooking for."
