Chapter One
Hannah was a beautiful four year—old. She had long curly blonde hair, blue eyes and the face of an angel.
This beautiful little one was coming to stay with her grandparents for a few days. Grandpa and grandma were so pleased. They had planned lots of fun things to do during her stay. It had been a long time since they had a four year old stay with them.
"They're here!" grandma called to grandpa, as she ran out to meet them.
"What a beautiful, sweet little lady you are!" said grandma as she gave Hannah a big hug. "This is going to be such fun" grandpa said, coming out to greet Hannah. She pushed him aside and ran into the house.
"Oh, she is just excited, it's all she has talked about for weeks" said Hannah's mom. She returned to her car giving grandpa, Hannah's over-night bag. She waved goodbye, calling out "have fun, Hannah, and be good."
Grandpa and grandma waved goodbye to their daughter, and went back into the house, with anticipated joy of their granddaughter's visit. They both gasped when they saw Hannah. She was standing on the counter in the kitchen, pulling the caps off their medication bottles and dumping pills everywhere.
"Oh Hannah!! " they cried "you shouldn't touch the medicine". "you could hurt yourself ." grandpa said as he lifted her down. "How" said Hannah.
Before grandma could explain, Hannah was off to the living room, with a "whoopee" chasing her grandparents pet poodle.
Around the living room, down the hall, and under the dining room table, she ran. Stopping only when the buckle of her shoe got caught on the lace tablecloth. Everything came crashing down, to the hardwood floor. Grandma's favorite crystal vase, full of flowers, the crystal candle holders with candles all broken. Hannah unharmed stopped only long enough to say "wow" and removing her shoe. But it was long enough for the dog to escape under the couch.
"Oh Hannah" grandma signed as she picked her up and carried her to the bath room to be sure she was not hurt. Grandpa cleaned up the mess.
Supper would be in the kitchen. It was fairly quiet. A glass of milk spilled, and Spaghetti on the floor, the chair, and one meatball hanging from the ceiling fan.
