OCTOBER SURPRISE is a satirical thriller in which an al-Qaeda plot to poison Halloween candy turns into more than just a Death to America outing when the toxin takes a left turn at Albuquerque. In the days following, children become infected, the CDC rushes to find a cure, and Tea Party President-elect Jeb Masterson seeks someone to bomb. Meanwhile the average Americans endeavor to survive, families try to unite, and war profiteers do what they do best. These are their stories.

About the Author

K A Harris spends his daylight hours pushing paper as a white collar bureaucrat and his company’s mandated forty-five minute lunch break picking up a #4 Ticonderoga, his Peter Straub mask and going to town. Prior to self-publishing Huckleberry’s Hail Mary, such literary critics as K A’s wife, mother and various faceless Internet e-friends positively reviewed his previous works. In between pencil sharpening episodes, K A spends his evening hours practicing his lifelong hobby of being disappointed on a daily basis by most Philadelphia professional sports teams.

K A has published two novellas in 2012, Huckleberry’s Hail Mary and most recently Pursuit of the Father. October Surprise is his first novel.
