Ann Ehrlich is an experienced teacher, professional author, and lifelong student. Considered one of the leading experts in the field of medical terminology since 1988, she has written numerous books on such health topics as dental assisting, practice management, speech therapy and lymphedema.

Description: This is the second edition of a basic review of nutrition and its application for dental health.
Purpose: The author states that her purpose is to provide a simplified explanation of nutrition and how this information may be used in daily life. Further, she is attempting to correlate this information with current preventive dental efforts. Although these are worthy objectives, this book presents information at a level insufficient for professional dental use.
Audience: The author states that the book is written for professionals and their families. The dental profession is not specifically identified. Although the author is a credible authority in the field of nutrition, neither the author nor those who assisted in writing the text provide sufficient expertise in the field of dentistry.
Features: There are no features that make this text useful as a teaching guide or clinical reference to the dental profession. The illustrations are basic, and the references are minimal.
Assessment: This book appears to suffer a lack of a clearly identified audience. It would certainly have no application and clinical activity or education at the professional level in dentistry. However, it seems that it might prove of value in classes on nutrition or health perhaps at the high school level.
