      About the Author

Jacquie Miller is a 1979 graduate of Kentucky State University, RN, AD program. She has been actively licensed in the states of Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas, California and New Jersey. Jacquie became very "solution oriented" after providing critical care staffing for many top ranked hospitals throughout the United States.

She became especially invested in developing mobility aids after meeting the father of Dr. Barbara Rygiel (the late John McKinney). Watching John struggle with mobility issues that were the result of a progressive nuclear palsy was heartbreaking. Her first entrepreneurial idea was for a crude sit-to-stand, self-transfer device.

After several failed attempts to develop the model that she envisioned, her engineer husband, Bob Miller, helped her to redesign the NuWynd. Jacquie was able to obtain HCPCS assigned DME billing codes for the NuWynd ST 350 and ST800. It bridges the gap between traditional walkers and sit-to-stand devices. In 2015, she formed Greater Mobility, Inc, and was accepted by the Ocala Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership business incubator program. The leadership and mentorship were excellent there. As a matter of fact, the Ocala CEP won national accolades when it was named the number one ACCE Chamber of the Year.

Jacquie loves the fact that she has lived in two states (Kentucky and Florida) that are recognized as the "Horse Capital of the World." She also loves to travel. She and her husband sold their Ocala home and purchased a Class A motorhome in 2019. They visited the forty-eight lower U.S. states, and camped in approximately one hundred and fifty campgrounds and resorts, for two years. most of their travel has been during the COVID-19 pandemic and subjected to a state of political and social unrest. Jacquie had several health issues during this time. Her recognition of underlying anxiety issues led her to unique and meaningful ways to handle stress. It all starts in the mind, and the mind of nurses is continuously bombarded with an influx of stressful stimuli. this book contains many revelations and solutions to take back your peace and function with purpose as a nurse, and in society as a whole.
