Editorial Reviews

NOVEMBER 2015 - AudioFile

One of the segments in this audiobook discusses the "mixtape." In the age of podcasts, such as NPR's "Pop Culture Happy Hour," this recording is the new version of the mixtape: a collection of the hosts' favorite show segments in audiobook form. Informal, conversational, and timely—though not always timeless—the book discusses topics from a variety of perspectives, often with humor and verve. While the hosts are excellent conversationalists, many of the segments also bring in recurring contributors to the podcast, augmenting the depth of the discussions. The added content between segments will delight regular listeners of the podcast, and the wide variety of subject matter will give new listeners insight into the podcast's scope.
