NOT JUST ANOTHER LOVE STORY

A love crime war drama.

Is it possible to deceive someone intimately close by impersonating someone else? That is the proposition in 'Not Just Another Love Story'. It is argued that nothing is impossible by couples who have just seen 'Twelfth Night' at the Globe.

Bill Stanhope a young Squadron Leader in Pathfinder Force Bomber Command in World War 2, with a great deal of luck, has survived a staggering number of missions. Falling in love with Jane Curtis, a nurse tending his wounded Observer, Harry Watt, he proposes, expecting his next operation to be his last. Fifty percent never came back from the terror-filled skies over war-torn Europe. They marry. She had fallen for him too. Four days later, his Lancaster is shot up, a doomed fireball.

Years of flying around in the dark have not prepared him for life on the ground, every bit as hazardous and tragic, where four women decide his fate. The crime, the deceit, and the outcome await the reader.

'A very clever commentary on the limits and conventions of the crime novel from the way dialogue is dealt with -

- a hurtling narrative.'

- Thomas Keneally

'I wish I had written it.'
