Nocturia: Causes, Consequences and Clinical Approaches is the first volume exclusively on the topic of nocturia and is designed to be a comprehensive treatise on the subject. Audience: The book is most suitable for urologists who encounter a significant number of patients with nocturia in their daily practice. Although patients with nocturia are certainly seen by other specialists, such as geriatricians or sleep disorder specialists, this book's degree of detail and lack of concise algorithms make it unsuitable as a quick reference.
Features: The introductory chapter is the most comprehensive and concise, providing definitions of terms relevant to the diagnosis of nocturia, classification of nocturia into subtypes based on etiology, evaluation of nocturia, consequences of nocturia, and a brief overview of therapy. Chapters two through six explore the epidemiology, potential etiologies, and consequences of nocturia. Chapter 10 addresses the same aspects of nocturia as they relate specifically to elderly patients. Overall, this is a great resource for practitioners struggling with this challenging diagnosis on a regular basis.
