Sergeant Darina "Dare" Mazur, a U.S. Army Special Forces combat field medic, is on loan to the Ukrainian Army and has not seen Captain Ram Kozak, a Black Ops team member, for two years. She's surprised when he shows up with new orders and announces she's been assigned to his team. Ram knows that Dare is an excellent medic and has no doubt about her capabilities in the field. What he is concerned with is the safety of the woman he loves. Working closely together with a no-fraternization rule proves difficult at times, but their relationship endures.
