Flat broke and sick of freezing to death in New York City, the permanently aroused Chip Harrison hops on a bus to warmer climes, landing in the quiet hamlet of Bordentown, South Carolina. With his usual clumsy charm, the aspiring lecher backs his way into a job running security at the local whorehouse. In no time he is playing cards with the madam, chasing the girls, and keeping trouble away from the door. The only thing is that trouble has a way of finding Chip Harrison.

This titillating reading of Block's 1970 pseudonymous sex-romp is...a barrel of fun, with actor Gregory Gorton doing a lively interpretation of Chip Harrison's narrative voice. While on close examination, it's hard to believe that Gorton's is the voice of a seventeen-year-old, he puts a bright bounce into his reading, making this a highly entertaining listening experience. Warning, this one is not for the kiddies. Though not explicit, the theme of sex runs throughout this story as Chip Harrison wanders from the Midwest to upstate New York, endeavoring to lose his virginity. --AudioFile
