About the Author

R. E. Parsons's formative years were steeped in literature. His father's passion for reading was a constant source of inspiration. As a young boy, he would delve into his father’s homemade bookcase, discovering the worlds of Perry Mason, Ellery Queen, Tarzan, and the classic Louis L’Amour westerns. These books and the captivating old-time radio dramas ignited his imagination and opened up a new realm of possibilities. This love for storytelling has been passed down to his two adult children and granddaughter, who are also avid readers.

R. E. Parsons had a successful career as a Licensed Clinical Counselor before retiring in 2022. He worked for twenty-five years, providing therapy to individuals experiencing emotional distress. He was also passionate about teaching and shared his expertise as a college professor, business consultant, and clinical supervisor. During his academic journey, he earned a master's and a doctorate in counseling psychology. Apart from his professional life, he enjoys running, cycling, hiking, and playing pickleball, a recently discovered sport.

His venture into writing crime novels would seem like a natural transition, but he had the same battle we all have at times with the big question, “Can I do it?” Well, the short answer was yes. For his first novel, No More Blood, he had an image come to mind that wouldn't leave. He felt compelled to write about what he saw, and when his fingers touched the keyboard, his imagination and creativity kicked into high gear. He wrote as the storyline visually unfolded in his mind.

In addition to the novel No More Blood, the author recently published a psychological thriller called The Puzzle Killer. At the other end of the spectrum, he has released a book titled Love Is a Journey, a collection of poems he has written over 30 years.
