As a child, Jennifer Gasser had dreams of becoming a professional musician and plans to attend performing arts school. Those dreams, however, were shattered when she was diagnosed with Major Depression at the tender age of 10. She suffered a breakdown during college in 2005 that changed her life forever. In her debut, Jennifer talks about how her Major Depression along with Panic and Anxiety Disorder destroyed her dreams and how it drastically changed her life.
She chronicles her mother's battle with Paranoid Schizophrenia and witnessing her mother's suicide attempts and breakdowns, her own battles with PTSD, insomnia and sleep deprivation. And also recounts how her mental health caused her to develop a binge eating disorder that left her gaining more than 100lbs. For the first time, Jennifer recounts her 25-year battle with mental illness and how she continually struggles with living life in darkness, with experiences of abuse and stigma related to mental illness. And also includes personal and private journal entries never seen before.
