Overview

Do pets know more than we typically give them credit for? Do we pick them, or do they choose us? Do they have the capacity for self-determination -- or even self-sacrifice? And when they're gone, can we realistically hope to ever see them again?

These are only a few of the questions inherent in this bittersweet account of the author's strange, amusing and ofttimes inexplicable experiences with a "rescued" German Shepherd named Duffy. Along the way, he recalls pets and other creatures from his past that forever shaped his views and prepared him for the incredible joys and sorrows he would encounter.

NO GREATER LOVE is sure to touch anyone who has ever felt a deep, enduring connection to a pet or to any other animal. For everyone else, it still stands as an amazing, entertaining and thought-provoking tale.

About the Author

Writing has always come naturally to Ted Sharack. In the 1970s, it manifested as an effort to interest magazines in articles devoted to metaphysical exploration. Over the next two decades he used his talent to further an unconventional marketing and management career. Returning to his roots in the new millennium, he published a collection of essays and advice columns, anonymously, on a website he entitled (note the anagram) Ask Dr. Chakras: Practical Advice on Personal Growth and Living Spiritually in a Material World. In recognition, in 2005 he was ordained a priest in Spiritis aka “The Original” Church.

The author resides in Elmira NY.
