Nikolai's Desire: Mushotoku Saga
Everyone can identify Nikolai's character in their life. Overambitious, underachiever always on a lookout for something bigger than life itself. Keeping the distance from loving relationships and not being close to anyone is very felt in this heart-warming story where Nikolai was trying to achieve closeness with his family and friends, yet due to many circumstances of work and other issues, this did not come to fruition.

Being the observer on the streets, Nikolai saw many tragedies like a person dying in front of him and his friends using drugs to escape life's problems. His girlfriends are after one thing, being driven, pampered and being succumbed by clubs' idolatry. Nikolai just had enough of his friends being used and almost dying, by the calling out of night life.

Let see what Nikolai does being placed between music industry, its debauchery, and other lost escapades.

Lev Mentrainpov like to exclaim that through his trials and tribulations of working and hustling in New York City, he realized that everyone is struggling with the same status quo, the human condition, the human neurosis, if you will. His adventures of being around myriad of people from all walks of life similarly to the Buddha like experience, taught him that the struggle of human beings: the illness, the death, and about salvation of walking his own path, is similar in all cultures.

Walking around Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Manhattan, the outskirts of good and bad neighborhoods, made him aware of the struggles of poverty, the debauchery of being well off, the night clubs, the martial arts circles, college life and brotherhood of men who instead of being together were separated by constant ego battles, facing rejection and acceptance of one's own fate. Finding that nothing was certain and that everyone can get replaced any moment was very clear, where to be fully complete seemed to never happen without some sort of corruption. After struggling for many years with these predicaments there was no escape but to battle these forces or move on to another place and try again

About the Author

Lev Mentrainpov is 55 years old living in Brooklyn, New York. He studied martial arts and received 3 kyu in Aikido. He went to Brooklyn College and studied Computer Science, Psychology and Business Management. After college life, he decided to become an entrepreneur and sell his DJ mixtapes to the public living in the New York City.

Lev aspirations of practicing Zen and Aikido were to use both arts to go on the journey and just go with the flow and learn about people. Through his practice and being an entrepreneur, Lev managed to learn a lot about people and with this almost Zen Buddha like experience, he learned that it was the same all over. Meaning went through the same status quo, and it was alright to be different, look different, or feel different. He realized it what on the inside that counts.

Through the years he made a lot of mistakes, and through writing these two projects, he hopes that a reader will learn from them, and as a result saves themselves, hardship, money and time. Lev Mentrainpov loved teaching and entertaining people. He had been doing that for the past 34 years of his life. He wishes the reader peace, prosperity and lots of success using their extra time, money and new found relationships.

Peace.

Lev Mentrainpov.
