About the Author

Ivan is a Singapore-based freelance journalist. He is a widely-read columnist, known for his sports columns in The New Paper [a Singapore daily newspaper] such as The Weekend Show and Anything But United v Nothing But United. He also helmed a popular lifestyle column called Party Animal, and The New Paper's then resident Party Animal later developed the column to the very-successful Entourage column in The New Paper.

With over 20 years of experience as a journalist, Ivan has worked on the various desks in the newsroom, from sports, news and entertainment. He has written reports and columns and been editor of the entertainment desk in The New Paper.

Ivan is a professionally-trained classical guitarist who has performed a solo recital. He also penned the bestselling book, Kumar: From Rags To Drag.

Cara van Miriah is a Singapore-based freelance journalist. She embarked on a career in journalism with the now defunct Streats, Singapore's first free sheet published by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH). She has also written for Her World, The New Paper and The Straits Times, in her 12-year journalism career.

The seasoned journalist has reported on major events in Singapore and around the world, such as the aftermath of the Asian tsunami disaster, Singapore General Elections, Dubai's Palm Islands and The World, and Golden Globes (LA). Prior to becoming a journalist, Cara promoted music at Live@5. She studied music at 7 under the tutelage of Louise Cheng at the former Institute of Education, and completed Grade 5 in keyboards in Yamaha Music School.

The award-winning journalist is also the author of club culture books, Zouk: Once Upon A Time (2011) and No. 5 Cocktail Bar (2011).
