El siglo XVII fue el siglo de las matemáticas, el XVIII el de las ciencia físicas y el XIX el de la biología. Nuestro siglo XX es el siglo del miedo. Se me dirá que el miedo no es una ciencia. Pero, en primer lugar, la ciencia es en cierto modo responsable de ese miedo, porque sus últimos avances teóricos la han llevado a negarse a sí misma y porque sus perfeccionamientos prácticos amenazan con destruir la Tierra. Además, si bien el miedo en sí mismo no puede ser considerado una ciencia, no hay duda de que es, sin embargo, una técnica.

About the Author

Albert Camus (1913-1960) was an Algerian-born French author, philosopher, and journalist. He is generally considered one of the fathers of Existentialism along with Jean-Paul Sartre (though Camus is famously quoted as saying "I am not an Existentialist"). Camus is most well known for his books The Stranger and The Plague, which have become classic examples of Absurdist and Existential Literature. In 1957, he won the Nobel Prize in Literature.
