Next World Under
Jean-Paul Herold comes back from Afghanistan with a cancer in his brain and a maddening uncertainty about what he's supposed to be doing with his life. JP doesn't know what to do about either problem. To make matters worse, the paramilitary New World Order throws him into a prison cell during a "terrorist roundup."
"Elves? Really?" JP asks the glowing man who appears in his prison cell. "Not exactly," says Zenman, as he restores the memory of JP's past-life. Almost before he knows it, JP has followed Zenman to the next world over, become an elf himself, and signed up to descend into the underworld of Agharti, to rescue Queen Magdalena, his past-life lover, from the Mad King of the Ruined Realm.
Elves: Really.
Set a generation after The Next World Over, Book 2 of the Nextworld Series sets the Materialist Magicians against the elves once again. This time the MMs and their Spaceling allies work on Earth through the New World Order to turn the United States into a theocratic monarchy in service to the Mad King.
The MMs plan to win the Second Portsmouth War using religion, politics, mind control technology, black magic and firepower. How can the elves stop them when most elves can never return to Earth?
From the bottom of all worlds where the Fallen Archangel known as the Claimant dwells, to the homeworld of the twisted race that spawned the Claimant's Emissary to the Mad King, to Earth, and to the heights atop the next world over, JP's battle will change everything in all the human worlds forever.
But first, he'll just have to find a way out from under the World Mountain.
Then there's the problem of his untimely death.
