Overview

First Rule of Time Travel-you can only go backwards. Sitting in the common room of Bellevue's psychiatric ward, Detective Lopez wondered where he went wrong. Drew Black loves being an agent of the Time Operations Executive. When TOE operators show up dead, Drew knows it's time to ignore orders and bring his friend Lopez in from the cold. Enlisting orphans, Jimmy Dobreva and Sarah Williams, to help free Lopez and solve the case, Agent Black sets a series of events in motion.
Brainwashed and conditioned to kill, they return Lopez to the Executive. Will he get his memories back, solve the murders, and undo his brainwashing, or will he kill the very people trying to help him?

About the Author

Writer, performer, singer, visual artist, teacher, and physical culturist; Vincent grew up in NYC, went to art school, drama school, graduate school, and the school of the lower east side club scene. Raised as a latchkey kid in an artist housing complex in lower Manhattan during the 1970s and 80s, Vincent watched a lot of TV. He has a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MA in Exercise Physiology. Performing in punk bands, off and off-off Broadway, in experimental theater, and his young years traveling the country in a VW-bus influence his story telling.

I very much enjoyed the trips to the Automat and the occasional headlines about FDR and the New Deal. Reading some of the developments in the book did remind me of that great sage Yogi Berra, "It's like déjà vu all over again."
