About the Author

Ellen taught her first Sunday school class when she was 10 years old to a younger group of children at church. She has since put in over 20 years of teaching Sunday school and Bible Studies to all ages.
Because of her love for the Lord and her passion for painting, she had started a Visual Arts Ministry. She organized and directed art classes, gallery exhibits, Bible Studies, wrote newsletters, and held open paintings sessions, for seven years. It was during that season of leadership that she read the Book of Nehemiah and it spoke to her in a whole new way.
Then one day, a friend confided in her that she was having difficulties in her ministry. Ellen started writing down all the wonderful truths of Nehemiah that she had read. As she was writing down her notes, she realized that what she was really writing was a Bible Study, and this is what you have before you today.
Being an artist, the study wouldn’t be thorough without images to complement the story. It was through much prayer, contemplation, and research, that the paintings were created.
She hopes you enjoy this study of Nehemiah as much as she has enjoyed writing and painting about this incredible Leader and Servant!
