About the Author

Jamaican born and bred, Ewan Rion Findley was blessed with the parents, Edney Findley and Himma McCogg. From these, his first role models he adopted the requisite skills and man power needed to pioneer his life; from them he has also inherited the zeal to strive for success and by extension a better life. And so, he has embarked on a journey to use one of his God’s given talents, his artistic skill of poetic writing in a quest to contribute to this endeavour. Ewan Findley is an optimist, a self- motivated person who finds inner peace in his writings; and one who also constantly emphasizes the importance of God and his love.

He was born on 25 March 1980, on the beautiful island of Jamaica, in one of its treasured heavens, a small fishing village called Parottee. A place where one could say is nature’s best friend, located on the southern part of the island, in the parish of St. Elizabeth. This bouncing baby boy was the first child to be born to his parents, who at the time were enduring the beauty of Luxury, yet that did not hinder them from making him their object of love and affection. From an early age they engrained in his earliest religious knowledge, the mercies of God and his blessings.
A spiritual person is he, one whose character is synonymous with high a moral dogma; after his mother went prison this has impacted greatly on his decisions and choices; and he has also allowed this attribute to be reflected in his poems, hoping that they may make a difference in people’s lives. His motive though, is not to seek fame or fortune from his writings, but an aim he holds for his words to be told. With lots of pride and strong determination, he vows to stay on this path to success.
Growing up- he was engulfed in the ambits of true friends and family; and though small the community it contributed greatly to the man he has become he was moulded with discipline and respect for those whose sacrifices have brought about freedom and the opportunities that is now present to make him the man is further destined to be. Even from an early age his thrust for upward social mobility began and after leaving the Parottee Basic School (nursery), he then attended Parottee All Age, Santa Cruz All Age (middle), then he went on to St. Elizabeth Technical High where he graduated with a diploma in Building Technology.
