Myths of the Norsemen: From the Eddas and Sagas

Evoking a land of gods, giants, elves and dwarves, Myths of the Norsemen will enthrall anyone interested in the legends of the Nordic countries. While more famous gods such as Thor and Loki are included, this retelling also speaks of lesser known deities such as the goddess Ran and Odin's son Hermod.

Guerber prose is beautifully clear, evidencing her fame as a writer of histories for children. However, these stories of romance and battle are aimed at anyone wanting an excellent grounding in the Norse myths. A chapter comparing Norse mythology with Greek mythology is a fascinating additional draw to this edition.
