About the Author

Shunte is a wife and mother of two children. She was born in Germany where her father was serving in the United States Army. Later she would follow in her father’s footsteps and become a U. S. Army Soldier, where she served in Iraq (OIF/OEF) as a Human Resource Specialist.

Shunte graduated from the University of Washington–Tacoma, where she studied literature; earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Media & Culture. Shunte loves writing socially conscious books for children and believes that children don’t have to wait to be “grown-ups “to make a real difference in the world. When she is not writing children’s books she can be found collecting journals, brainstorming and experimenting with recipes she shares with her family.
