My Thoughts
Deeply felt Christian serenity embracing a good measure of confident individuality and nationality are keenly reflected in this collection of poetry by Iveren Agbatse.
A case may be made about how “The Beauty Beneath,” for example, encapsulates the whole experience of each African amidst colonization and discrimination, and the steadying effect of the faith in the Creator to restore self-esteem.
Another poem, “Nigeria,” lays down an unassailable belief in the future of an entire nation, of a sheer belief in the capability of a people to shape their destiny.
More of the poems in My Thoughts by Iveren Agbatse should warm the heart of the Christian faithful, showcasing the validity of the faith even in this vexing age that we have.
