My Sister
He had graduated this year a few months after he turned eighteen. His sister, home from Berkeley after her first year in college, was only a year older. When she barged in while he was taking a bath, he didn’t know if her unexpected appearance was contrived or happenstance. Stunned, he watched her dash to the toilet, push her shorts and panties down her legs, then sit down to relieve herself as if his presence was inconsequential. She told him she had been talking on the phone, that she had waited too long. If she had waited any longer, she would have wet herself.

Staring at her brother, it occurred to her she hadn’t seen him naked in long time. He certainly wasn’t the same little boy she remembered from their childhood baths together, not with that chest hair and those hairy legs. She smiled inwardly at the mortified look on his face. But since she was here, why not try to get a better look at him? Why not tease him and have a little fun?

His attempt to cover himself with the miserable washcloth was futile. He couldn’t believe she wasn’t leaving after she relieved herself. Instead, she brazenly came closer and asked him what he was trying to hide. Humiliated, feeling vulnerable and exposed, he eventually became resigned. As one thing lead another, a whole new world opened up for both of them. Neither would have guessed how much their relationship was about to change.
