About the Author

Christina Goodings is the author of several Lion Children's books; including: The Lion Easy Read Bible, Easter: Fun Things to Make and Do, Christmas: Fun Things to Make and Do, and Who is Jesus?

French Canadian Claudine Gevry studied Graphic Design at the University of Quebec and started her career designing openings for television shows before moving into children's illustration. In her free time she enjoys designing furniture, clothes and jewellery - and would love to design her own house so she has room for all her creations! Claudine is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the Association des illustrateurs du Québec.

Goodings simplifies the message of Jesus Christ for preschoolers (“Love one another... Forgive others”) before recounting the events of Passion Week that culminate in the crucifixion of the “troublemaker” Jesus and his Easter resurrection. Angels and animal figures throughout make a difficult story for young ones more child-friendly. Gévry’s soothing color palette is mostly the green of spring and new life, and her art is the best part of this introduction to the traditional Easter story. Ages 3–5. (Jan.)
