About the Author

Hyrian Mitchell was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She is a middle aged wife and mother of 3 children; two girls and a boy. In her youth, Hyrian did not know what self love was. Although she has always been naturally beautiful, she did not embrace it until she had children of her own; whom she had to teach to love themselves. At one point in life, Hyrian wore wigs and use chemicals to permanently straighten her hair. The damage caused by these methods were irreversible and resulted in Hyrian doing the ultimate "BIG CHOP" at the tender age of 30 years old. Since that day, she learned how to use essential oils and herbs to keep her hair healthy. All of Hyrian's children have different textures of hair, so she had to learn to keep their hair healthy as well. She teaches them that their hair is beautiful and to embrace each coil.
