Amanda Doering Tourville is the author of more than 15 books for children. Her book Rain Forest ABC: An Alphabet Book (Capstone Press, 2004) was nominated for the 2005-2006 Mocking Bird Award. The same book was also on the American Library Association's booklist of Outstanding Science Read-Alouds. Amanda currently lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, with her husband and her chinchilla. She loves animals and would have an entire zoo if she could. She also enjoys traveling and photographing wonderful, exotic places. Her photography has been featured in books and magazines.

Originally from Baltimore, MD, Kristin discovered very early on that she wanted to be an artist. She often visited the Smithsonian with her parents and loved making paper dolls, homemade cards and board games. She went on to study at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY where she graduated with highest honors, earning a BFA in Illustration and minor in Fashion Design, and received the award for Excellence in Illustration. For over 10 years, Kristin has specialized in illustrating children's books working in both traditional and digital media. She also co-founded a business with her husband as a digital color artist for the comic book industry, and has ventured into animated property development, stationery design, textile design, editorial, advertising, and fashion illustration. Her work has appeared in children's books, both trade and educational, dozens of comic books, magazines, stationery and party products, off-Broadway posters, websites, clothing hang tags and her mom's birthday cards. Kristin resides in New York with her husband and their dog.
