About the Author

Youssef Sassine is Professor in the Faculty of Agriculture at Lebanese University, and a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. He teaches courses on mushroom cultivation, general horticulture, soilless cultivation, and vegetable production. He has ~ 80 research publications covering various subjects, including mushroom cultivation, viticulture, vegetables and abiotic stress, and tropical and subtropical crops. His focus in mushroom research is the implementation of local types of agricultural wastes in the production of different mushroom species, including Agaricus bisporus.
