Museums, the Public and Anthropology: A Study in the Anthropology of Anthropology
The book, Tall Islam and Short Muslims, throws light on the principles and message of Islam as reflected in the Holy Quran and the Hadith with practical examples based on small case studies. Another feature of the book is that it tries to bring out significant gaps between what Islam preaches and what Muslims practice today. The intention of the author is to uphold the glory of Islam and present Islam in its right perspective. There is a small exercise in the book to correct the situation and prevail upon community leaders to take up this responsibility. But the question is whether the community leaders of various categories are prepared to take up this responsibility and if so, who are such leaders? Let not further damage be done to the image of Islam. It is high time to act. This book could be of much interest and use to community leaders, social workers and research scholars.
