This story about Muffin's New Home is based on the real-life experience of the author's beloved dog Muffin, an Old English sheepdog who went through life thinking of herself as always a puppy! With puppy playfulness, she seemed to enjoy all kinds of adventures with the children in her family, including running away, hiding, and befriending other animals. Muffin especially loved children, even when they got each other in trouble.

About the Author

Ellen is the mother of four sons and grandmother (“Nana”) to nine grandsons, so it’s no surprise that she always selected female pets! She has always had a great love for children and dogs, and she started writing about them as gifts to her grandchildren.
In her professional life, Ellen has been the owner of five retail stores, has directed the Governor’s Committee on Children and Youth in Mississippi, was for twenty years a professional interior designer, and for thirteen years served as first lady for the college of which her husband was president.
Now in retirement, she is sharing stories of children and dogs and how they have fun and adventures together.
