About the Author

More About The Author, Peter Alexander
Mubu The Little Animal Doctor series creator and author, Peter Alexander, has been writing about animals since he was twelve years old. His first book was called Striped Chipmunk. He took his book to Thornton W. Burgess, the famed author of the Old Mother West Wind series, which included Peter Rabbit Jimmy Skunk, Sammy Jay, Bobby Raccoon, Little Joe Otter, Grandfather Frog, and other beloved animals.
Mr Burgess encouraged Peter to keep writing about animals. After he graduated from Boston University, Peter wrote and directed the famous documentary film called The Animals are Crying, which told the story
of unwanted cats and dogs in the United States. His movie won first prizes at three film festivals.
In Thailand, Peter became concerned about the plight of elephants in that country. He wrote a screenplay entitled The Earth Trembled that dramatized the problems of those great animals. His research led him to Lek
Chailert, founder of the Elephant Nature Park, who told him the story of Goldie, her first elephant.
Today, Peter lives in Thailand and America, and continues to write about Mubu, The Little Animal Doctor, and to help abused and homeless animals wherever he goes.
